ABOUT US

My name is Mac Smith and I live with my two kiddos in Fort Collins, CO. We have enjoyed creating fun things with our 3D printer from dinosaurs to wizard wands.

A recent decline in my father's health led to his requiring 100% supplemental oxygen. This was threatening his ability to live independently as he often snagged his oxygen lines on household furniture which disconnected him from his lifeline of supplemental oxygen. The most concerning was when dad suffered a seizure due to oxygen deprivation when his oxygen hose was caught and he completely disconnected it in attempting to get it free. This incident was upsetting for our family and something had to be done.

Coming from a problem-solving background, I started wondering if there was an option to protect these connections from coming apart so easily. Not finding anything, I started looking into solutions, which led me back to the 3D printer. After a few months of trial and design modifications, using my father and other oxygen-dependent family members as test subjects, adventuring through the patent process, the O2-LOC was born.
